How To Treat Skin Damage And Acne Scars

Zits are common for teenagers, but some adults have them too. They may last for some days on your chin but once they’re gone, they leave marks in the form of a scar.

Even if you don’t pick your acne it can still lead to scarring because of the intense collagen damaging inflammation it is associated with.

Acne scars develop in areas where cystic lesions had once been present. It comes in three varieties:

1.    Boxcar-shaped
2.    Atrophic (mostly shallow)
3.    Ice pick-shaped (narrow and deeper)

People with darker skin tones may notice darkening within the scars, and those with lighter skin tones may show redness within the scar. What makes it worse are the following:

1.    Sun

When scars are exposed to the sun, it causes darkening and slow healing process because ultraviolet rays stimulate the pigment-producing cells called melanocytes that lead to further discoloration.
